Irlen Consultants of New Zealand

About Us Page

An Irlen Screener, having assessed a client, will make a recommendation as to whether or not the client should be referred on to the local Irlen Clinic for further diagnostic testing and the provision of Irlen Spectral Filter lenses.

Those who work as screeners have undertaken a two day training course, but also have a minimum of a Bachelor Degree or have extensive work experience, in helping children or adults with learning difficulties or similar background.

Diagnosticians undertake training under the mentorship of a regional director and must have worked as a screener and undertaken a number of screenings prior to being accepted to train. Training is all in-house with final approval from Helen Irlen, founder of the Irlen Method, from the Irlen Institute based in California, USA.
